Einfuehrung einer freiwilligen zweiten Ausbildungsphase in Deutschland - Hintergrund und Sachstand / Introduction of a voluntary second phase of training for novice drivers in Germany - background and current state

Mit der Verbesserung der Fahrausbildung, der Einfuehrung und Verbesserung des Fuehrerscheins auf Probe und der Nachschulung fuer verkehrsauffaellige Fahranfaenger wurden in der Vergangenheit wichtige Schritte zur Absenkung des Unfallrisikos junger motorisierter Verkehrsteilnehmer getan. Angesichts der nach wie vor ueberdurchschnittlichen Unfallbeteiligung dieser Verkehrsteilnehmergruppe sind weitere Schritte zur Verbesserung ihrer Verkehrssicherheit notwendig. Der Beitrag informiert ueber den aktuellen Stand sowie die absehbaren Perspektive im Zusammenhang der Einfuehrung einer freiwilligen zweiten Ausbildungsphase fuer Fahranfaenger im Rahmen eines bis Ende 2008 befristeten Modellversuchs. (A) ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: The improvement of driver training, the introduction and improvement of the probationary driving licence and the retraining of novice drivers who have committed offences were important steps taken in the past to reduce the accident risk of young motorised traffic participants. In view of the fact that the accident participation of this group of traffic participants is still above average, further steps to improve their traffic safety are necessary. The paper provides information on the current state of this area and the foreseeable prospects relating to the introduction of a voluntary second phase of training for novice drivers as part of a model test, which will run until the end of 2008.
