BITUMINOUS EMULSIONS - THEIR USE IN WORKS IN THE PROVINCE OF SANTA FE /IN SPANISH/

WORK CARRIED OUT IN THE PROVINCE OF SANTA FE WITH BASES OF SAND STABLISHED WITH EMULSION ARE DESCRIBED. ONE PERCENT OF LIME IS ADDED TO THE MIXTURE OF SOIL AND SAND, AND THE MIXTURE WITH EMULSION IS MADE WITH A MACHINE OF THE PULVIMIXER OR P-H TYPE. CONTROLS ARE MADE OF THE UNIFORMITY OF THE MIXTURE, QUANTITY OF EMULSION AND THE PERCENTAGE OF BITUMEN IN THE EMULSION. CONTROL OF MOISTURE CONTENT IS NECESSARY TO DETERMINE THE INSTANT OF COMPACTION. OVER THE STABILIZED BASE A SPRINKLING OF PRIMER BINDER IS APPLIED AFTER TRAFFIC. IN SOME SURFACINGS A SUPERFICIAL TREATMENT IS APPLIED, TRIPLE OR DOUBLE, OF COLD ASPHALTIC MIX. THE SEALER IS MADE OF ASPHALTIC GROUTING CONTAINING 92% FINE SAND, 8% FILLERS, 13% EMULSION AND 25% WATER. /LTE/LCPC/RRL/
