PORTLAND CEMENT, SLAG-PORTLAND CEMENT, POZZOLAN-PORTLAND CEMENT, AND OTHER VARIETIES

THIS STANDARD RELATING TO CEMENT DEALS WITH THE FOLLOWING: (1) DEFINITION AND COMPOSITION OF CEMENT. THERE EXIST TWO CATEGORIES OF PORTLAND CEMENT OBTAINED BY ADDITION OF INGREDIENTS AT THE TIME OF GRINDING (PLASTICIZED CEMENT AND WATER-REPELLENT CEMENT), ONE CATEGORY OF RAPID-HARDENING CEMENT, ONE OF SULPHATE-RESISTANT CEMENT, AND ONE OF CEMENT WITH MODERATE EXOTHERMIC PROPERTIES. THE OTHER TWO MAIN CATEGORIES ARE SLAG-PORTLAND CEMENT, AND POZZOLAN-PORTLAND CEMENT. (2) TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS DEFINING STRENGTH CATEGORIES (BASED ON COMPRESSIVE AND FLEXURAL STRENGTH), SETTING TIME, SULPHUR DIOXIDE AND MAGNESIUM CONTENTS, FINENESS OF GRINDING, MINERALOGICAL COMPOSITION, TRICALCIUM ALUMINATE CONTENT OF THE CLINKER, ETC.). (3) ACCEPTANCE REGULATIONS: DEFINITION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ONE BATCH, SAMPLING WITHIN BATCHES, TESTS. (4) TEST METHODS: MENTION IS MADE OF SPECIFICATION GOST 310-60 (CEMENT-PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL TEST METHODS FOR CEMENT) AND GOST 5382-58 (CHEMICAL ANALYSIS).
