NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL RELIABILITY

SOME NUMERICAL METHODS ARE INTRODUCED FOR THE COMPUTERIZED ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL RELIABILITY. PARAMETERS THAT AFFECT THE STRUCTURAL BEHAVIOR ARE REGARDED AS RANDOM VARIABLES, AND THE FAILURE CONDITION IS EXPRESSED AS AN INEQUALITY RELATION BETWEEN THESE VARIABLES. THREE COMPUTATIONAL METHODS OF GENERAL VALIDITY ARE PRESENTED FOR EVALUATION OF THE RELIABILITY OR PROBABILITY OF FAILURE.
