AN INVESTIGATION OF CREEP DUE TO BOND BETWEEN DEFORMED BARS AND CONCRETE

IN AN INVESTIGATION OF CREEP DUE TO BOND STRESS IN T-BEAMS, EIGHT SPECIMENS, MADE TO REPRESENT THE BEHAVIOR OF PAN-JOIST T-BEAMS, WERE SUBJECTED TO SUSTAINED LOADS APPLIED INITIALLY WHEN SPECIMENS WERE 3, 4, 8, AND 32 DAYS OLD. TWO LEVELS OF TENSILE STRESS, 12 KSI AND 17 KSI, WERE MAINTAINED DURING THE SUSTAINED LOAD PERIOD. NO EVIDENCE OF CREEP DUE TO BOND WAS DETECTED, BUT THERE WAS AN INDICATION OF INITIAL BOND SLIP IN SPECIMENS LOADED AT THE EARLIER AGES. /AUTHOR/
