GENERALIZED METHOD FOR DESIGNING RETRACTABLE FENDER SYSTEM

The presented hypothetical method of design is based on the mathematical analysis of the frictional resistance created during retraction, between the fender frame and both the ship hull and the sliding surface of the supporting brackets. In the design procedure included, a particular attention is directed to the influence of the combined dynamic behavior of the system, including the berthing ship, the fender and the marine structure.
