THE AUTHOR PREDICTS THAT IN TWENTY YEARS PEOPEL WILL BE APPLYING EVEN MORE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY TO COMPUTERIZING TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION SYSTEMS. HE DESCRIBES THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TASK OF MOVING THINGS QUICKER, MORE EFFICIENTLY AND MORE ECONOMICALLY AS IT WAS ALMOST TWENTY AGO; THE IDEA WAS THE SAME BUT THE TECHNOLOGY OF THE TIME ALTERED THE CONDITIONS. TECHNOLOGY WILL ALTER THE CONDITIONS IN THE FUTURE. COMSAT WAS FOUNDED IN 1962 TO ORGANIZE AND COORDINATE A WORLDWIDE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK. IN THE FUTURE THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY MAY WELL USE COMSAT FOR ITS EXPANDING DATA EXCHANGE SYSTEMS.
