A COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR TRAVERSE ADJUSTMENTS USING PLANE COORDINATES

A PLANE COORDINATE TRAVERSE ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM USING CONDITION EQUATIONS HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR THE IBM SYSTEM/360-30 COMPUTER. THE PROGRAM IS WRITTEN IN 360 BASIC FORTRAN IV AND REQUIRES 65K BYTES OF CORE STORAGE AND A DISK DRIVE FOR INTERMEDIATE STORAGE. IT UTILIZES THE METHOD OF LEAST SQUARES AND WILL ADJUST A NETWORK WITH AS MANY AS 250 STATIONS, 600 OBSERVED DIRECTIONS, 250 MEASURED DISTANCES AND 99 CONDITION EQUATIONS. CORRECTIONS ARE APPLIED FOR THE THE OTHER, DIFFERENCES ARE INSIGNIFICANT FOR ARE AVAILABLE FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF AZIMUTH AND POSITION CONTROL. /AUTHOR/
