ELECTRONIC COLOR

MAPCO, INC. USES A LOGE CP-18 CONTACT PRINTER FOR BACK AND WHITE, AND A LOGE MARK III FOR AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS IN COLOR, WHICH NOW COMPRISES ABOUT 60 PERCENT OF THE WORK. THE USE OF THE PRINTERS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED BOTH THE QUALITY AND ECONOMICS OF BLACK AND WHITE AS WELL AS COLOR OPERATIONS. THE KODAK EKTACHROME AERO-NEG COLOR SYSTEM WAS APPLIED SUCCESSFULLY IN FORESTRY MANAGEMENT FOR A PAPER COMPANY IN THE FLATWOODS AND LOWER COASTAL PLAINS OF FLORIDA, GEORGIA, ALABAMA AND MISSISSIPPI. BLACK AND WHITE PRINTS ARE ALSO MADE FROM THE COLOR NEGATIVES, AND THE INTERPRETER WAS ABLE TO USE ONE BLACK AND WHITE PRINT WITH A COLOR PRINT FOR STEREOSCOPIC VIEWING, RECORDING THE INFORMATION ON THE BLACK AND WHITE. MAPCO IS NOW CLOSE TO BEING ABLE TO FLY AERIAL COLOR IN WEATHER CONDITIONS COMPARABLE TO BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY. /AUTHOR/
