LR-1 PORTABLE LINE RECTIFIER

THE LR-1 PORTABLE LINE RECTIFIER PRODUCES RECTIFIED LINE DRAWINGS FROM FRAME AND PANORAMIC PHOTOGRAPHY, INFRARED RECORDS, AND SIDE-LOOKING RADAR IMAGERY. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, WHICH USES MICROELECTRONIC ANALOG COMPUTING CIRCUITRY FOR RECTIFICATION, CONSISTS OF TWO COMPACT MODULES WHICH RESTS ON AN OFFICE DESK OR TABLE AND WHICH FOLD INTO TWO PORTABLE CARRYING CASES. TOTAL WEIGHT OF THE MODULES IS 130 POUNDS. PHOTOGRAPHIC INPUTS MAY HAVE FOCAL LENGTHS RANGING FROM 3 TO 36 INCHES AND CAMERA TILTS OR SWEEP ANGLES RANGING FROM 0 TO OVER 80 DEGREES. OUTPUT DRAWINGS CAN BE SCALED FROM 0.5 TO 10 TIMES THE INPUT RECORDS. RECTIFICATION ACCURACY IN PLOTTED DISTANCES IS WITHIN 0.1 PERCENT. DURING SETUP OF INPUT RECORDS, WHICH MAY BE PERFORMED EITHER ANALYTICALLY OR EMPIRICALLY, ORIENTATION ANGLES AND OTHER PARAMETERS ARE ENTERED DIRECTLY BY THE OPERATOR WITHOUT ANY OFF-LINE OR AUXILIARY COMPUTATIONS. THE OPERATOR TRACES FEATURES OF INTEREST WITH A MARK OF LIGHT PROJECTED FROM A RADIAL ARM, AND A STYTUS SIMULTANEOUSLY DRAWS THE RECTIFIED FEATURES.
