APPLICATION OF PRECISE PHOTOGRAMMETRIC METHODS TO RIGHT-OF-WAY RELINQUISHMENT SURVEYS

INVESTIGATIONS WERE MADE OF THE PRACTICALITY OF USING A PRECISE PHOTOGRAMMETRIC METHOD FOR MAKING RIGHT-OF-WAY RELINQUISHMENT SURVEYS AND OTHER CADASTRAL SURVEYS WHERE HIGH ACCURACIES ARE REQUIRED. A ZEISS C8 STEREOPLANIGRAPH IS USED IN COMBINATION WITH LARGE-SCALE AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND CAREFULLY TARGETED GEODIMETER CONTROL POINTS TO ACQUIRE THE NECESSARY SURVEY INFORMATION TO DESCRIBE THE RELINQUISHED RIGHT-OF-WAY. HIGH-QUALITY PHOTOGRAMMETRIC INSTRUMENTATION AND PROCEDURE IS NECESSARY, AND AN ELECTRONIC COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR ADJUSTMENT OF PHOTOGRAMMET- RICALLY MEASURED DATA PROVED HELPFUL. THE METHOD PROVED SUCCESSFUL AND ACCURACIES ATTAINED INDICATE THAT IT CAN BE APPLIED TO PROBLEMS REQUIRING GREATER ACCURACY THAN THE RELINQUISHMENT PROBLEM.
