ABANDONED VEHICLES: A SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY

ONE OF THE MOST SERIOUS SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL PROBLEMS IS CREATED BY JUNKED CAR BODIES. THE COMBINATION OF THE LARGE NUMBER OF CARS PRODUCED TODAY AND THEIR SHORTER LIFE SPAN WILL INEVITABLY INCREASE THE NUMBER OF AUTOMOBILES ABANDONED EACH YEAR. AN EFFICIENT SYSTEM OF DISPOSAL IS A VITAL FUNCTION OF ANY URBANIZED COMMUNITY. CONCERN ON THE PART OF THE CITIZEN, COUPLED WITH LOCAL AND STATE REGULATION, WILL BE NEEDED TO CONTROL THE WIDE RANGE OF PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH AUTOMOBILE DISPOSAL. THIS BIBLIOGRAPHY IS A SELECTED LIST OF MATERIAL THAT HAVE APPEARED WITHIN THE LAST 10 YEARS. SINCE THE SUBJECT IS LIMITED IN SCOPE, MATERIALS HAVE BEEN GROUPED ACCORDING TO TYPE OF PUBLICATION, AND THEY DISCUSS THE VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THE ABANDONED VEHICLE PROBLEM. /AUTHOR/
