A TECHNIQUE OF HIGHWAY CODING FOR ROUTE RECOGNITION AND POSITION DESCRIPTION

A MACHINE ADAPTABLE TECHNIQUE IS REPORTED FOR THE NONAMBIGUOUS DESIGNATION OF A VEHICLES EXACT POSITION WITHIN A ROAD SYSTEM AND OF A SELECTED ROUTE TO PROCEED TO ANY OTHER POINT IN THE SYSTEM. THIS TECHNIQUE CAN BE USED TO ADDRESS LOCATION AND VEHICLES FOR ANY HIGHWAY COMMUNICATION APPLICATION. SUPPORTED BY A METHOD FOR NODES DESIGNATION, THE TECHNIQUE PROVIDES: A MACHINE LANGUAGE FOR RECORD KEEPING, A MATHEMATICAL TOOL FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL AND ASSIGNMENT AND FOR DISCRETE ADDRESS OF ALL VEHICLES IN ANY COMMUNICATIONS APPLICATION, AND A MACHINE LANGUAGE AND A MANUAL-VISUAL METHOD FOR ROUTE FOLLOWING. THIS CAN BE ILLUSTRATED BY USING A SIMPLE NODE DESIGNATION METHOD FOR A LIMITED NETWORK AND A PREPARED ROUTE SELECTION MATRIX.
