THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE HAS PERSONNEL ENGAGED IN SOIL MAPPING, LABORATORY SOIL TESTING, INTERPRETATION, CLASSIFICATION, MAP COMPILATION, AND BASIC RESEARCH IN SOIL GENESIS, MORPHOLOGY AND GEOGRAPHY. THE MEMBERS OF THE STAFF OF TECHNICAL PERSONNEL TO SUPERVISE THESE ACTIVITIES IN THE WASHINGTON-BELTSVILLE OFFICES ARE LISTED. NAMES AND ADDRESSES ARE PRESENTED OF THE SOIL CORRELATORS LOCATED IN THE FIELD. THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE WORKS WITH STATE AGENCIES IN PROVIDING STANDARD SOIL SURVEYS.
