USE OF HIGHWAY PLANNING SURVEY DATA BY THE BUTCHER, THE BAKER, AND THE CANDLE STICK MAKER

USES OF PLANNING SURVEY DATA COLLECTED BY THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT ARE DELINEATED. THE U. S. POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT, RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE CORPORATIONS, STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, AND THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION USE THE HIGHWAY MAPS IN PLANNING. A MONTHLY SUMMARY STATEMENT OF MONTHLY AND CUMULATIVE STATE HIGHWAY INCOME, MOTOR FUEL TAXES, AND MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS ARE PREPARED BY THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT. THESE ARE USED BY: BANKS, ASSOCIATIONS OF MOTOR VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS AND DEALERS, OIL DEALERS' ASSOCIATIONS, OIL COMPANIES, ETC. MILEAGE FIGURES ARE FURNISHED TO MANY AGENCIES WHO PAY MILEAGE RATES FOR TRANSPORTATION, AND TO BUS AND TRUCKING COMPANIES FOR USE IN MAKING THEIR SCHEDULES. THIS PARTIAL LIST OF THE MANY USES OF PLANNING SURVEY DATA TENDS TO SHOW THAT THE MONEY EXPENDED FOR THE PLANNING SURVEYS IS JUSTIFIED.
