MODELING IRREGULAR SURFACES

A TWO-INDEPENDENT VARIABLE INTERPOLATION PROCEDURE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR MODELING IRREGULAR FUNCTIONS OF TWO VARIABLES. THIS METHOD REPRESENTS THE SURFACE AS A FAMILY OF LOCALLY VALID MATHEMATICAL FUNCTIONS WHICH JOIN TOGETHER CONTINUOUSLY. THIS SURFACE MODELING TECHNIQUE HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE AN EFFICIENT AND ACCURATE MATHEMATICAL BASIS FOR AUTOMATED CONTOURING. /AUTHOR/
