EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAMMETRIC WRIGGLE SURVEY IN THE SECOND MERSEY TUNNEL

THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES AN EXPERIMENTAL WRIGGLE SURVEY OF A 50 M LENGTH OF THE SECOND MERSEY TUNNEL. PHOTOGRAMMETRIC TECHNIQUES WERE USED INSTEAD OF THE CONVENTIONAL METHODS OF DIRECT MEASUREMENT. THE RESULTS WERE ENCOURAGING ALTHOUGH THEY WERE NOT OBTAINED WITHOUT DIFFICULTY. THE SURVEY IS ANALYZED IN REGARD TO TIME REQUIRED, COSTS, AND ACCURACY ACHIEVED. THE AUTHORS MAKE CERTAIN RECOMMENDATIONS WHICH COULD PROVE VALUABLE IN A ROUTINE APPLICATION OF THE METHOD. /AUTHOR/
