A MODEL FOR THE ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF URBAN ROAD PROJECTS, WITH DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE

THE MODEL IN THE FORM OF A COMPUTER PROGRAM IS WRITTEN IN FORTRAN FOR THE CDC 3200 OR CDC 3600 COMPUTER SYSTEMS. IT WAS AN ATTEMPT TO DEVISE A GUIDE IN THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS BETWEEN ECONOMIC EVALUATION THEORY AND PRACTICAL HIGHWAY PROGRAMMING. AS SUCH, THE MODEL COMPUTES THE CHANGES IN COSTS FOR HIGHWAY USERS, HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE, HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND LAND ACQUISITION AND COMPARES THESE COSTS WITH THE MEASURABLE COST BENEFITS.
