AN ATTEMPT IS MADE TO SHOW, ON THE BASIS OF WORK CARRIED OUT IN THAILAND, THAT THERE ARE AREAS IN THE DE WEILLE STUDY ENTITLED "QUANTIFICATION OF ROAD USER SAVINGS" WHICH CAN BE SUPPLEMENTED BY FURTHER DATA AND ANALYSIS. THE FACTORS TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT ARE THE CLASSIFICATION OF ROADS, CLASSIFICATION OF VEHICLES, FUEL AND ENGINE COSTS, TIRE WEAR, DEPRECIATION SAVINGS IN ROAD USER SAVINGS, INTEREST COSTS, VEHICLE MAINTENANCE COSTS, VALUE OF TIME SAVINGS, AND OVERHEAD COSTS. /TRRL/
