ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY HAS BEEN TO LOCATE SPECIFIC BOOKS WHICH WILL AID A PUBLIC ADMINISTRATOR IN MANAGING ENVIRONMENTAL AGENCIES IN AN INTERDISCIPLINARY WAY. THE AREAS OF SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGERS HAVE BEEN GROUPED BY SUBJECTS. THE MAJORITY OF THE READINGS ARE FOR MANAGERS REQUIRING INDEPTH INFORMATION IN THE AREAS OF ADMINISTRATION, LAW, ECONOMICS, AND PLANNING. NO SCIENTIFIC MATERIAL HAS BEEN COLLECTED, BUT SOME REFERENCES CONTAIN SEMI-TECHNICAL INFORMATION IN BOTH THE SOCIAL SCIENCES AND THE NATURAL SCIENCES. THE AREA POLITICS PRESENTS THE MOST GENERAL MATERIAL BUT ONE ESSENTIAL TO ALL ADMINISTRATORS. GOVERNMENT REPORTS ARE A SAMPLING OF THE MANY SIGNIFICANT REPORTS AVAILABLE. GENERAL READERS AND TEXTS HAVE BEEN INCLUDED TO GIVE AN OVERVIEW OF IDEAS AND REFERENCES FOR POLICY STATEMENTS. JOURNALS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUED UP TO DATE INFORMATION. FOR FURTHER REFERENCE WORK SEVERAL EXCELLENT BIBLIOGRAPHIES ARE INCLUDED WITH MORE TECHNICAL, GENERAL, OR TOPICAL INTEREST.
