WHEEL LOADER COMBINES WITH ROLLER TO PRODUCE NEW MACHINE

Cooperative studies by both Ford and Richier have resulted in production of a vibrating road roller combining major component systems from a pair of preexisting machines. A 10-tonne unit for intermediate paving duties was designed, with 80% of its parts coming from those already in manufacture. The joint effort should fill a need pinpointed in recent market studies. The Richier A625 Roller results from marriage of a wheel loader and a vibrating road roller. The A62 wheel loader is the smallest of a range of three articulated loaders launched by Ford in 1974. The CV415 is a 15-tonne vibrating roller introduced by Richier in 1971.
