CUTTER SUCTION DREDGER VLAANDEREN XIX -- POWER AND MOBILITY

The design of the stern section of the Vlaanderen XIX does not differ in principle from that of a large number of cutter suction dredgers built recently by IHC Holland. The vessel's line is characterized by a long forecastle, astern of which is a large working deck. The dominant feature of the profile is the crane track, which is situated at forecastle deck level and runs over the entire length of the ship. The traveling, revolving crane has a hoisting capacity of 20 tons at a reach of 16.5 meters. The spud installation is situated at the bow, the ladder gantry astern. The funnels are amidships and are of unconventional design in order to meet the requirements of visibility and exhaust gas dissipation above the bridge.
