DRIVER TRAINING, PSYCHO-PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH TO CAR DRIVING INSTRUCTION

LA FORMATION DU CONDUCTEUR, APPROCHE PSYCHOPEDAGOGIQUE DE L'ENSEIGNEMENT DE LA CONDUITE AUTOMOBILE

Starting from a brief analysis of the system of driver training in France, the authors define the three key points upon which attempts at modifications should be made, e.g.: definition of the operational objectives in terms of driving behaviour, definition of efficient teaching methods, definition of objective evaluation criteria. For each of these factors the authors review the current knowledge and present the direction of research and analysis proposed by the onser. Finally they propose ways for research and application based on current analysis of the system and supported by recent psychological and teaching knowledge. /TRRL/
