COAST GUARD BREAKS ICE WITH NEW 140-FOOT TUGS

As part of its continuing efforts to modernize its fleets the United States Coast Guard recently took delivery of the first in a series of all-new 140-foot, medium harbour icebreaking tugs. Not only will the new class of vessels replace the older ships, its design is such that the ships should outperform the older vessels in all assigned missions: icebreaking, search and rescue, towing and marine environmental protection. Order from NSFI as No. 17122.
