ADDING DIMENSIONS TO CITIZEN SURVEYS: THE INFORMATIONAL BASIS OF ATTITUDES

The purpose of this paper is to describe a methodology for survey research that was developed to deal specifically with the informational basis of attitudes toward proposed highway projects. The procedure is evaluated in terms of traditional standards employed to assess the comparative merits of survey methods.
