Causation and Outcomes of Diaphragmatic Injuries in Vehicular Crashes

There have been several studies that have addressed the prevalence, diagnosis and outcome of diaphragmatic injuries, however, little is known about the biomechanical factors involved in the causation of these injuries among vehicular crash victims. The objectives of this study are to identify occupant, crash and vehicular factors associated with diaphragmatic injuries, and to determine whether the occurrence of diaphragmatic injuries by itself is associated with a worst outcome.
