APPROACH TO THE LONGITUDINAL PROFILE OF A ROAD - THE APOLLO PROGRAM /IN FRENCH/

THE APOLLO PROGRAM HAS THREE FUNCTIONS: (1) ESTABLISHMENT OF THE LONGITUDINAL PROFILE, THE TRANSVERSE PROFILE BEING ALREADY DETERMINED; (2) ADJUSTMENT OF THE LONGITUDINAL PROFILE TO THE MOST EXACT SOLUTION POSSIBLE BY CHECKING GEOMETRICAL CONSTRAINTS AND GIVEN TOLERANCES; (3) EVALUATION OF HIGHWAY DESIGNS. THESE THREE FUNCTIONS ARE, IN FACT, DISTINCT FROM EACH OTHER BUT CAN BE LINKED, AS ALL COMBINATIONS ARE POSSIBLE. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROGRAM, PREPARATION OF DATA AND CONTROL OF DATA (ERROR DIAGNOSIS BY MEANS OF THE VERIF PROGRAM), AND PRESENTATION OF RESULTS. APPENDICES EXPLAIN THE SYSTEM OF OPERATION, PREPARATION OF TERRAIN DATA (LETER PROGRAM), AND DRAWING AND VISUALIZATION PROGRAMS (DELPO-DEPTR-VRAC PROGRAMS). /TRRL/
