AN ANALYTICAL RECTIFICATION IN HIGHWAY ENGINEERING

A THEORETICAL STUDY HAS BEEN MADE OF THE GEOMETRY OF RECTIFICATION AND ITS APPLICATION TO THE WILD E4 RECTIFIER. THE ELEMENTS OF RECTIFICATION ARE EXPRESSED IN ANALYTICAL FORM AS FUNCTIONS OF PHOTO AND MAP COORDINATES OF CORRESPONDING POINTS. ANALYTICAL TRIANGULATION AND STRIP ADJUSTMENT ARE PREREQUISITES TO THE ANALYTICAL METHOD OF RECTIFICATION. THEREFORE, THESE PHASE WERE ALSO STUDIED, AND APPROPRIATE AVAILABLE COMPUTER PROGRAMMES WERE MODIFIED FOR PURPOSES OF THE PHOTOGRAMMETRY DIVISION. THE RECTIFICATION THEORY WAS INCORPORATED INTO A VERSATILE COMPUTER PROGRAMME WHICH RENDERS THE FIVE ELEMENTS OF RECTIFICATION. FINALLY, A PRACTICAL TEST WAS UNDERTAKEN FROM WHICH AN ASSESSMENT OF THE ANALYTICAL METHOD OF RECTIFICATION WAS MADE. /CGRA/
