THE IMPACT OF AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY ON TRAVELER SPENDING IN SOUTHWESTERN WYOMING

RESULTS ARE REPORTED OF AN ANALYSIS UNDERTAKEN TO STUDY THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF CONSTRUCTION OF INTERSTATE 80 IN SOUTHWESTERN WYOMING. THE OTHER TWO CRITERIA OF IMPACT WERE INVESTMENT AND REDISTRIBUTION OF INCOME. AN ANCILLARY PURPOSE OF THE STUDY WAS TO TEST A PREDICTIVE MODEL FOR ESTIMATING FUTURE IMPACT OF THE HIGHWAY ON TRAVELER EXPENDITURES.
