THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES: A SECENARIO

IN THE BATTLE AGAINST POLLUTION THE CONVENTIONAL GASOLINE-POWERED CAR HAS BEEN TAGGED AS A PRIME OFFENDER, AND THE ELECTRIC CAR ADVANCED AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. THAT IT IS NOT A SIMPLE SOLUTION IS MADE CLEAR IN THIS ANALYSIS OF THE MULTI-FACETED EFFECTS THAT TOTAL ELECTRIFICATION OF LAND TRANSPORTATION WOULD HAVE ON THE ECONOMY OF THE NATION. THIS ARTICLE IS ADAPTED FROM A PAPER PRESENTED NOVEMBER 1969 AT THE INTERNATIONAL ELECTRIC VEHICLE SYMPOSIUM, PHOENIZ, ARIZONA. /AUTHOR/
