Traffic safety evaluation in signalized intersection based on vehicle behaviours at signal change intervals

In this study, vehicle behaviours during signal change intervals at signalised intersections are analysed and the characteristics of unreasonable vehicle behaviour during these intervals are identified. Based on this analysis, accident probabilities in an intersection are estimated without taking into account possible avoidance manoeuvres carried out by drivers. Thisstudy clarifies the danger caused by unreasonable vehicle behaviour and makes it possible to evaluate the danger at signal change intervals in signalised intersections quantitatively.
