A Detailed Composition Plan for System Design and Software According to the Application of ISO 14827

The ITS of Korea, after the ITS Basic Plan was established in 2000, has been introduced actively in highways, national roads, and also in major cities all over the country including cities modelled with new transportationsuch as Daejon, Jeonju, and Jeju, being emphasized as important solutionsto the traffic problem. As the economic social activities of citizens become more metropolitan and diverse, the demand for an integrated provision of metropolitan transportation information in addition to traffic information and local information is increasing. In Korea, this began with 28 Local self-governed Organizations in 2005, followed by 20 Traffic Information Centers established in 2006. Also, more Traffic Information Centers are continually being established and through such establishments, mutual compatibility is being considered for the connection of traffic information of each Traffic Information Center. ISO 14827, an international standard, was applied for the mutual compatibility of Traffic Information connection systems and mutual connection has been made through this for the collection of traffic information. In initial Traffic Information connection system establishments, there have been some problems in the connection between Traffic Information connection systems and in the lack of experience regardingISO 14827, which is being used for the first time. Also, there have also been several problems with materializing software following the materialization of ISO 14827. Individual functions for the materialization of ISO 14827 of each tier were defined along with class based multi-tier design plans of software to overcome such problems and system compositions have beenbrought out accordingly. Korea has prepared a Traffic Information Connection Base through such experiences and this has developed into the current Traffic Information System and Traffic Information connection system. Following this, it is planned to observe the ITS Traffic Information Connection System and introduce the composition of the Traffic Information connection system and detailed functions of its composition. It is also planned tointroduce system compositions and Traffic Information connection softwareplans of system compositions as an example of one system and application schemes of ISO 14827.
