Ontology-based Transportation Information Integration

The current approach in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) cannot effectively support discovery, negotiation, and invocation of heterogeneoustraffic information services. An ontology-based service-oriented information integration architecture is described that consists of two new aspects. The first aspect is to present a traffic domain ontology model and a traffic application ontology model. The second aspect is to utilize the traffic ontology model to integrate and share distributed and heterogeneous traffic information. For the covering abstract see ITRD E140665.
