PERT DIAGRAMM IN A FINAL ENGINEERING PROJECT

THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED WHICH ARE BEING OBTAINED WITH THE APPLICATION OF THE PERT DIAGRAM IN THE FINAL ENGINEERING PROJECTS OF BR-101/BA. IN HIGHWAY DESIGN AND HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION, THE USUAL PRACTICE HAS BEEN TO USE LINEAR GRAPHICS OF THE GANTT TYPE, BUT PERT IS MORE VERSATILE SINCE IT ALLOWS A VIEW OF THE INTERCONNECTIONS AND SIMULTANEOUSLY OF SIMILAR ACTIVITIES, AS WELL AS OF THE TYPES OF SERVICES AND PERIODS. THE SYSTEM PERMITS THE OBSERVATION OF THE SERVICE ACTIVITIES WHICH ARE DELAYED MORE THAN FORESEEN AND CAN CAUSE A DELAY IN THE WORK OR PROJECT. WHEN NECESSARY IN THESE CASES, IT ALLOWS THE PREDICTION OF THE NECESSITY OF MOVING STAFF OR RESOURCES FROM ONE ACTIVITY TO ANOTHER WITH THE AIM OF ACCELERATING THOSE WHICH ARE CONSIDERED CRITICAL. THE LIST OF ACTIVITIES OF THE MENTIONED PROJECT, THEIR SEQUENCE, THEIR PERIODS AND THE PERT DIAGRAM IS PART OF THE WORK. THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PROCESS AND THE IMPROVEMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED IN THE NEXT PLANNING ARE NOTED. /RRI/
