TRANSPORTATION IN CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES: A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF SELECTED REFERENCES 1945-1969. REF. ED. VOL. 1.

IN AUGUST, 1968, THE CENTER FOR TRANSPORTATION STUDIES AT TTHE UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA PUBLISHED ITS FIRST BIBLIOGRAPHY ON TRANSPORTATION. THIS BIBLIOGRAPHY IS AN ENLARGED AND EXTENSIVELY REVISED VERSION OF ITS PREDECESSOR. OF SOME 2,800 REFERENCES THAT WERE INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS PUBLICATION, MORE THAN 500 ITEMS OF "MINOR" IMPORTANCE WERE DELETED AND OVER 1,000 NEW WORKS WERE ADDED: THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ENTRIES IS NOW OVER 3,200. THE TIME SPAN IS ROUGHLY 1945-1969. HOWEVER, EXCEPTIONS WERE MADE TO INCLUDE SOME OLDER WORKS WHICH WERE CONSIDERED TO HAVE SPECIAL IMPORTANCE, PARTICULARLY FOR CANADA. THE MOST IMPORTANT CHANGE IS IN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE MATERIAL. THE PURPOSE BEHIND THIS REORGANIZATION IS TO PERMIT QUICK AND EASY LOCATION OF REFERENCES ON THE SPECIFIC AREA OF TRANSPORTATION IN WHICH A READER MIGHT BE INTERESTED. /CGRA/
