Agency moving full speed ahead with road improvements

The Government's fiscal stimulus package means that the Highways Agency is accelerating some key projects, as set out in the Agency's recently published Business Plan. Following January's announcement that the Government will invest some £6 billion in the Motorways and Major Trunk Roads Programme, the Highways Agency's plans for the coming year have been firmly in the spotlight. It recently published a Business Plan for 2009/10, which provides further insight into the first schemes the investment will support. It also details how the fiscal stimulus package - involving a range of different capital projects across different sectors - is set to benefit England's road network and the organisations that work to build and manage it.
