GASOLINE COMPOSITION IS CHANGING

REDUCTIONS IN LEAD CONTENT OF GASOLINES ARE LEADING TO CHANGES IN HYDROCARBON COMPOSITION. ANALYSES OF 198 SAMPLES OF UNLEADED AND LOW-LEADED GASOLINES SHOW THAT THERE IS A LARGE VARIATION IN OCT AND QUALITY LEVEL, HYDROCARBON COMPOSITION, AND OTHER PROPERTIES. AROMATIC CONTENT IS HIGHER, AND OLEFIN CONTENT IS LOWER THAN THAT OF CONVENTIONALLY LEADED GASOLINE.
