The RTmaps Software, an Integration Platform for Multi-Parnter Cooperative Projects Developing Multi-Sensor Applications

Cooperative projects gather teams from different locations, with different expertise and different equipments. In order to collaborate and share their work efficiently, they need to exchange data and integrate functions developed by other teams, develop blocks that will be able to talk to each other, the same way as a .doc file can be exploited by almost any computer user, at home or at the office and can be considered as a standard format to exchange documents. In domains such as embedded systems and multi-sensor systems development (ADAS, mobile robotics, ergonomics, etc.), the RTMaps software can be used as a common platform for exchanging functional blocks (real-time data processing algorithms, data fusion algorithms) and sensors data recordings. This article will present what the RTMaps platform provides, how it can be used in the frame of large cooperative projects and how it has already been successfully deployed in the frame of national and European research projects as a common development and integration platform in different domains.
