URBAN DATA COLLECTION BY AIRBORNE SENSOR

REMOTE SENSORS REPRESENT A TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCE WHICH MAY HELP TO OVERCOME MANY DATA PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED BY URBAN PLANNERS AND RESEARCHERS. AFTER CONSIDERING THE MAJOR TYPES OF SENSORS, A FRAMEWORK IS PROVIDED FOR THE INTEGRATION OF REMOTE SENSORS WITH AN URBAN DATA SYSTEM. REMOTE SENSORS ARE SHOWN TO POSSESS PARTICULAR ADVANTAGES OF TIMELINESS AND FLEXIBILITY WHEN THEY ARE COMPARED WITH OTHER COLLECTION SYSTEMS.
