Public Works Concessions for the Maintenance and Operations of Highways in Spain
Les Contrats De Concession De Travaux Publics Pour L'Entretien Et L'Exploitation Des Voies Rapides En Espagne
Spanish highway maintenance and operations public works concessions are profiled in this article. Spain's road building master plan was adopted in 1984. During its initial phase, its focus was on the 1,515 km of roads corresponding to four radial highways, and, to a lesser degree, to 572 km corresponding to two other radial roads and another short road segment. Investments in first phase associated construction work have been estimated at 2.226 billion euros. The selected concessions approach and contract format for these public works projects are presented. A table details pavement skid resistance related project operations.
