Pedestrians, Cyclists Among Main Road Crash Victims

This article reports on the results of a global status study that examined road safety. Results have shown that pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists contribute to about half of the 1.27 million people who die in road traffic crashes. It was also found that the needs of these road users were not achieved. Other factors investigated in the study include the efficacy of the road safety measures implemented in countries and vehicle manufacturing standards and requirements.
