HIGHWAY FINANCE 1967

THE HIGHWAY FINANCE 1967 INDICATES THAT PROVINCIAL AND MUNICIPAL NET EXPENDITURES HAVE BOTH INCREASED. THE SLIGHT DROP IN FEDERAL EXPENDITURE IS MAINLY THE RESULT OF REDUCED EXPENDITURES ON THE TRANS-CANADA HIGHWAY AND ROADS TO RESOURCES PROGRAM. THE EXPENDITURES IN THE ATLANTIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD TRUNK HIGHWAY PROGRAM ARE MORE THAN DOUBLED THIS YEAR. THE COMPLETION ON SCHEDULE OF TURCOT INTERCHANGE, DECARIE FREEWAY AND LOUIS-HIPPOLYTE LAFONTAINE BRIDGE TUNNEL COMPLEX IS REPORTED. ESTIMATED PROVINCIAL REVENUES FROM FUEL TAXES AND LICENSES AND PERMITS THIS YEAR EXCEEDS $1 BILLION FOR THE FIRST TIME. /CGRA/
