Modeling the Dynamic Evolution of Land Use in Response to Transportation Improvement Policies

This paper presents a general framework for dynamic urban simulation models (USMs) designed to forecast the evolution of land use patterns in response to transportation improvement policies. Although urban economists have shown an active interest in such operational USMs, none of the existing USMs are adequate for forecasting impacts of transportation on land use.
