Increasing Runway Acceptance Rates

This article (Paragraph No. 20,401) examines means through which the number of landings per unit of time can be increased on a runway serving transport-category aircraft, with the increase being realized in a relatively short period and with proven technology that is readily available. The means will include infrastructure design, avionics, Air Traffic Management (ATM) software, and training. Such means will have to be combined to achieve the greatest results, although some benefits can be realized with partial adoption.
