A specification relating to the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance of vehicle mounted, electrically powered equipment, designed for use by the Police and Fire Services of England and Wales - revised December 2007

This document contains electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) specifications to cover the operational equipment installed in police cars and motorcycles, to ensure that emissions do not interfere with police mobile radio, and that the immunity of the vehicle and equipment will withstand the high radio frequency (RF) levels generated by the radio transmitter. It is published in two parts: routes to certification and required supporting documentation; and test procedures. Routes to certification and compliance comprise conditions for obtaining certification; requirements on CE-marked equipment; type approval; notes on conditional certificates; and required documentation. The application form is given in an appendix. The test procedures allow a manufacturer to design and test equipment and make preliminary measurements off-vehicle; the specifications comprise testing philosophy, general aspects, and performance levels. Measurement procedures are given in an appendix.
