Route guidance using seat vibration for car-navigation systems

This paper presents a route guidance method using seat vibration for car navigation systems. It was developed using the intersection close-up map and voice guidance. An additional route guidance method using seat vibration is proposed. The driver can obtain the rough distance to the turning point and direction by the seat vibration without needing to watch a visual display. This enables the driver to concentrate on watching the surrounding traffic situation. For the covering abstract see ITRD E140665.
