Application of car navigation system to vehicle control - application to suspension control
This paper presents an application of a car navigation system controlling suspension damping force by utilizing road information. If the shape of the curve and surface of the front road is correctly identified in advance, the suspension should be able to be controlled optimally. Although this application was considered using car navigation information, it was necessary for sufficient performance to develop higher performance curve detection accuracy and learning function. An original method is described allowing accurate curve detection, as well as the self-learning technology that was developed to realize this function. The development of these technologies allowed us to realize a new application that greatly improves driving stability as well as ride comfort. For the covering abstract see ITRD E140665.
