Wire-Free Trams - An Environmental Advantage

This article examines different methods for powering trolley cars. Instead of the conventional catenary system which is used by trams, the article looks at alternatives to overhead wires. It describes applications of different technologies, including batteries, inductive transmission, and rapid charge accumulators. The article also discusses some of the aesthetic, environmental, and energy savings-related reasons associated with switching to new technologies.
