U.S. and Worldwide Experience with Congestion Pricing: An Overview

Many congestion pricing projects are now operating in the United States and other nations, including the pricing of high-occupancy vehicle lanes and new express lanes, the conversion of tolled or toll-free facilities to variable tolls, and the application of congestion pricing within an area or region. This progress is expected to continue, with congestion pricing becoming a more important component of U.S. urban transportation policy.
