AEROTRIANGULATION ANALYSIS AND CONTROL POINT ERROR DETECTION

A MAJOR PROBLEM FACED BY PERSONNEL RESPONSIBLE FOR MANIPULATION AEROTRIANGULATION DATA THROUGH TRANSFORMATION AND ADJUSTMENT PROGRAMS IS AN ELECTRONIC COMPUTER IS THAT OF ISOLATING AND DETECTING BLUNDERS AND OTHER ERRONEOUS DATA. THIS RESEARCH CREATED AN AUTOMATED DATA ANALYSIS AND REJECTION PROGRAM TO REDUCE THE TURN AROUND TIME FROM INITIAL ENTRY TO CERTIFICATION OF THE FINAL ADJUSTMENT. PARAMETERS FOR ESTABLISHING THE SMALLEST DETECTABLE ERRORS FOR REJECTION WERE DETERMINED BY ANALYSIS OF ERROR SOURCES IN GROUND CONTROL SURVEYS, AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY, AND AEROTRIANGULATION THEORY AND OPERATIONS. SOME SELDOM CONSIDERED THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ERROR SOURCES IN GROUND CONTROL SURVEYS ARE DISCUSSED AND RESOLVED.
